Gentle reminder: Call for Rotating Board Members

Dear Members, Following the last call for board candidates, we have received only two applications out of the three available seats. Unfortunately, the seat allocated to SMEs remains vacant as there is no eligible candidate. This seat could be reassigned to another college if no SME candidate applies. This means that any of the executive members may apply. The deadline to apply is therefore extended until Monday, 29th April 2024. If no candidate applies, the seat originally allocated to SMEs will remain empty for this term. Call for Rotating Board Members (deadline : 19 March EoB) The call for applications is now open until 19 March EoB. We kindly request applicants to submit a supporting letter from their employing member company, confirming their motivations and the resources required to serve as a Board member. Please send your applications to pierrejean.verrando(a)eurosmart.com<mailto:pierrejean.verrando@eurosmart.com> before the stated deadline. The received documents will be shared with the General Assembly members subsequently. Election Process (Meeting to be Scheduled) Furthermore, in compliance with Belgian law, we are mandated to convene an online meeting to ensure the presence of the quorum of voting members required for a remote vote. During this meeting, applicants will have the opportunity to make a brief presentation. A doodle poll will be circulated in the coming days to fix the date. Should you be unable to attend in person, you may designate another delegate from your company or provide a proxy to another voting member. An online form will be created to ease the process. Eligible Members (see list of members<https://files.eurosmart.com/f/175233>) Rotating Board members are elected by the General Assembly for a one-year term, renewable for a second consecutive term. Applicants must be "Executive members", while "Full members" can increase their membership to become eligible (refer to Article 8 of Eurosmart’s integrated statutes<https://www.eurosmart.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Eurosmart_integrated_s…>). The allocation of the 3 rotating seats is as follows: * One seat for an Executive member from the "SME" college * Currently, there are no eligible members in this category * One seat for an Executive member from the "laboratory" college * Eligible member: SGS * One seat for an Executive member from the "vendors" college; * Eligible members: Winbond, Qualcomm, IN Groupe, Huawei If no candidates are declared from a particular college, the seat will be allocated to the candidate who has not been elected within its college but has received the most votes among all other non-elected candidates.
